Manchester United and Everton shared a point with each other in their latest Premier League outing.
Scoreline: Man Utd 1-1 Everton
Goalscorers: Greenwood | Lindelof (OG)
Manchester United were looking to get their third consecutive Premier League win since January.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refrained himself from making any changes to the side that defeated Man City at the Etihad earlier. Everton’s team, whereas, saw four tweaks to the team that beat Chelsea.
The Red Devils immediately started on the front foot with Lingard firing wide. They continued to threaten Everton but never really got close as much as with their first opportunity.
At the 36th minute, Man United did score, but on the wrong side of the pitch. De Gea tried to clear the ball after Everton’s corner after punching it away. The ball got deflected by Lindelof’s presence and, instead, rolled inside his own net.
Man Utdcorrected their mistake just after entering the final quarter of the match. Dan James cut inside the right side before laying the ball to Greenwood. The 18-year old hitman, who had just come on for Lingard, drove a low shot past Pickford.
The match ended with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer failing to get three wins in a row since his initial appointment. The stalemate also means Man Utd drop to the sixth place on the Premier League table.
