Manchester United have announced that they have triggered 12-month contract extensions for both Daley Blind and Ashley Young
Sky Sports has reported that both of their contracts were due to expire at the end of the current season and United have now opted to retain the duo for another season.
This comes despite Blind having been heavily linked with a move to Serie A side AS Roma during the January transfer window after the Dutchman had reportedly grown frustrated with his lack of playing opportunities under Jose Mourinho this season. The 27 year-old has been restricted to just 15 appearances across all competitions and is likely to be sold by United in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Young has established himself as a key player under Mourinho and had revealed his intention to secure a fresh new deal with the club.
