The talented Englishman admits the former Red Devils No. 7 has had a huge influence on his style of play.
Manchester United new signing Jadon Sancho reveals Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the players he modelled his game on.
Sancho was finally officially unveiled as a Manchester United player on Friday following his transfer worth £73 million (€85m) from Borussia Dortmund.
A considerable section of the United fanbase expects the club to hand the 21-year-old winger their iconic No. 7 shirt once donned by the likes of George Best, Eric Cantona, Michael Owen, David Beckham, and, of course, the living legend Ronaldo.
“I feel like everyone’s different and I feel like I’ve got different attributes to all the other players, but obviously Cristiano Ronaldo and what he’s done in his career is a fantastic thing,” Sancho told the official Man Utd website.
“Where he started at Sporting and then he came to Manchester so it’s always good to see that all these iconic players have come through an iconic club.”
Asked to name some of the greats of the game he looks up to, Sancho responded: “Ronaldinho and obviously Wayne Rooney for England – those two are very iconic and great role models.”
