Jose Mourinho is reportedly targeting a move for a new right and left-back this summer and is interested in bringing Danny Rose to Manchester United, claims The Guardian
The Portuguese coach is planning for a major summer overhaul of his squad with the likes of Luke Shaw, Daley Blind, Marouane Fellaini, Matteo Darmian and Anthony Martial all linked with moves away.
While Mourinho has Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young occupying both the right and left-back positions at Old Trafford, both defenders are now over 30 and will need to be replaced at some stage in the near future.
In light of this, the 55-year-old is keen on pursuing his interest in Rose at the end of the season with the England international having recently expressed his frustrations with Tottenham’s transfer policy.
The 27-year-old wants to move north to be closer to home, amid struggles to regain his best form and fitness after a serious knee injury.
After losing Kyle Walker to Manchester City for £50m last summer, Tottenham is reluctant to lose another full-back and will undoubtedly demand a high transfer fee to compensate for the loss.
