Just when you thought Manchester City couldn’t get any better!

The Premier League champions broke their transfer record to sign the Spanish international Rodri from Atletico Madrid.
The €70 million (£63m/$79m) arrival at Manchester City, is the club’s record signing, and being tipped to make Pep Guardiola’s squad “more complete”.
There is no doubt about the attacking prowess of Manchester City and all the goals they have scored over the last two Premier League Championship winning seasons.
You would be forgiven for saying they will hurt from the loss of Vicent Kompany. Even if he wasn’t the regular figure he once was.

In an interview with in house TV channel, Bernardo Silva talks about what Rodri brings to the City team.

But Bernardo Silva thinks the young Spaniard joined at the start of July to add defensive steel in midfield and his attributes will make the Premier League champions even better this season.

Spain international Rodri has been acquired as another ball-playing option for the midfield, with the intention being he will be a long-term successor to Fernandinho in the holding role.

Silva is pleased to see City bringing in even more top talent, with the latest new arrival being tipped to make an immediate impact.

Silva added: “He had a fantastic season with Atletico and it’s good to have a player in that position that we lacked. Fernandinho was the only one and then Gundogan was fantastic when he played there.”

“It’s good to have a more complete squad and I hope he can improve us even more.”

A daunting thought for the chasing pack that City is going to be better than they have been of late.
