Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives his opinion after watching team romp Chelsea 4-0 on opening day weekend.

After gaining an extravagant result over rivals Chelsea, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responded to BBC Sports with a sense of excitement, but is not getting ahead of himself.

On the result: “Yes, of course. You can’t really dream of more or expect more.”

However, the United boss knows it could have been different…

“I think we have to be honest enough to say, we’re lucky to go into half time 1-0 up.”

His comments coming after United took the lead against the run of play in the first half, as well as being slightly the poorer team.

However, with Man United beginning to show signs of controlling the game around the 55-minute mark and evidently going on to score two goals shortly after, Solskjaer will be happy with his side’s ruthlessness in front of goal today against tough opponents.

“We’re just working on improving as a team. Finding a style that suits us, suits the players that we have and I think today showed that we still need a bit of time… It’s coming, we’re improving.”

Solskjaer also went on to say that “the team spirit has been fantastic” and “winning is a good habit.”

With an unthinkably good start to their opening fixture, Manchester United fans may be dreaming of bigger aspirations than they originally thought…

One thing is for certain however, an opening day clean sheet for new arrivals Harry Maguire and Wan-Bissaka. Plus a goal for new boy Daniel James, will do nothing but wonders for confidence.
