10. David de Gea
After his €25m transfer from Atletico Madrid in 2011, nobody saw a lanky 20-year-old De Gea lasting long. He wasn’t suited for English football considering his lack of physicality and leadership in goal.
Despite a shaky start, however, De Gea remains a Manchester United player to this day. Four Player of the Year awards have come his way while making over 390 appearances in all competitions.
The Spaniard has also produced many memorable saves down the years, which have spared United several times. As long as this guy is on form, then there is always a reason to hope at Old Trafford.
