Fernandes again shows promise
Bruno Fernandes has been one of the biggest talking points in England following €55m January transfer from Sporting CP.
A solid debut outing against Wolves followed on February 1 before the winter break started. Ultimately, it couldn’t have come at a better time as it enabled him to bond with his new team-mates.
And while the Chelsea game was a different challenge to Wolves, Fernandes again showed promise. He didn’t have an easy start trying to spearhead an attack, but his set-pieces were invaluable. One of his free-kicks even hit the post before a corner-kick enabled Harry Maguire to head in his goal.
Premier League teams better watch out as Fernandes will only improve in time.
