Wasteful Chelsea pay the price
Alright, VAR did rule out two Chelsea goals controversially.
But the Blues had better opportunities than Manchester United in the game and should’ve got on the scoresheet. However, Michy Batshuayi’s performance was dreadful in Tammy Abraham’s absence. Wingers Willian and Pedro failed to inspire anyone either.
It left Frank Lampard in a real stitch considering he had lost Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi to injuries.
Introducing Olivier Giroud, though, did at least inspire some sort of fightback even if it ended in tears. But the Frenchman could have at least earned himself a chance to start Saturday’s game against Tottenham.
Although it doesn’t solve Chelsea’s problems, with just one win in their last six league games.
