Manchester United keeping tabs on Rayan Cherki

Rayan Cherki is considered one of the most promising players in France and is attracting a lot of interest from the residents of Old Trafford.

Touted as one of the greatest hopes of Olympique Lyonnais, Rayan Cherki is in great demand. And it appears that Manchester United are set to give Les Gones quite a headache.

Aged just 15, the young striker has impressed everyone. After impressing the Under 17 team, Rayan Cherki was quickly promoted to the Under 19 squad that plays the UEFA Youth League. He distinguished himself at the competition by becoming the youngest goalscorer. Such rise has delighted Lyon but has also given them plenty to think about.

Rayan Cherki due to his age, has a non-solicitation agreement with Lyon. That agreement expires by the end of next season. Les Gones are therefore trying everything in their power to make the youngster sign a professional contract. The Rhone giants don’t want to see the prodigy pack his bags and leave.

However, United are also keen on taking action so Lyon have to act fast.

The club’s president, Jean-Michel Aulas is however confident that the club will hold on to the player despite interest from big teams.

“I am more and more optimistic about Rayan Cherki. It’s really in his interest to stay at OL. He has suitors from big clubs. I trust his parents and things will be settled,” Aulas said according to Foot Mercato.

However, it appears that The Red Devils are set to meet the youngster’s parents and will try to convince him to make a move to England.

Lyon for their part, have already begun discussing things with Cherki’s parents. However, with the finances they have, Manchester United are going to make it really difficult for Les Gones to hold on to a player who could become one of the biggest stars for France in the coming years.
