Internazionale were willing to offer Mauro Iccardi and Radja Nainggolan for Romelu Lukaku but the Red Devils rejected the proposal.
Internazionale are clearly willing to part ways with Mauro Icardi. The talented striker has been a loyal servant to the club for several years. However, issues began to rise between the player, his agent/wife and the club’s supporters.
And then Mauro Icardi was banished from the team and stripped off captaincy after his wife and agent Nara criticized the club and how it was being run. Now with Antonio Conte at the helm, it appears that Mauro Icardi has no place in the team.
The Nerazzurri are trying really hard to sell the striker but so far, no suitors have come up with a concrete offer.
Conte is keen on bringing Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United. The Red Devils are not going to allow their striker to leave for a modest amount and have so far rejected all offers made by Internazionale.
According to ESPN, the Italians offered United a swap deal for the Belgian striker. The deal would have seen Mauro Icardi or Radja Nainggolan plus cash. The Italian giants are unable to meet United’s asking price and felt that this deal might go through.
However, the Red Devils have rejected the offer.
Lukaku arrived at the club from Everton a couple of years ago. After hitting the right form early on in his Old Trafford career, the striker struggled for form and consistency in the second season. The striker was usually confined to the bench.
This was mostly the case when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as the club’s new manager. Rashford was the Norwegian’s first choice striker and it seems that will remain the case next season.
The striker’s time at United is clearly coming to an end and one would hope that a move is finalized in the coming days.
