Manchester United set to move for Issa Diop

Issa Diop could be on the verge of leaving West Ham United as the Red Devils looks set to make an audacious bid for the Frenchman.

Issa Diop has definitely become one of the most talked defenders in the transfer window this summer. The young centre back only arrived from France last summer. However, the defender has shown that he can cut it in a competitive league.

Following strong performances for the Hammers, Issa Diop is getting a lot of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are in dire need of a solid defender after seeing the likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo fail miserably last season. The latter was out injured for most part of the campaign.

Initially, the Red Devils were keen on signing Matthijs de Ligt. The Dutchman however, is set to sign for Juventus in a big money deal. An approach was also made for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly but the Italians aren’t entertaining basic offers for their star player.

Harry Maguire has been eternally linked with a move to Old Trafford. However, the England international is reportedly set to reject the chance to join the club in favour of cross city rivals, Manchester City.

And now, it appears that Issa Diop remains the club’s only viable option in the market according to The Express.

It was earlier believed that Hammers rejected a bid from United and wanted Anthony Martial as part of any deal. However, the Red Devils haven’t made a bid yet.

Fresh reports claim that Manchester United are now set to make a bid for the talented defender. The club would be looking to ensure that they don’t meet with rejection this time around. While Diop will not push a move away from the club, the chance of playing at Old Trafford is likely going to force the youngster into considering the offer.
