The former City boss admitted that it would be extraordinary if he could coach his country in the future.
Zenit St. Petersburg head coach Roberto Mancini is focused on his work in Russia right now, but noted that he would love to take the managerial position of Italy’s squad at some point in his career.
The former Nerazzuri boss is touted as one of the favourites for the position and he gave his input on the topic as he spoke to Sky Italia.
“When you’re abroad you always miss your country,” Mancini confessed.
“You see the national team playing and it takes you back to the past, the 70s and the 80s, with great emotion.
“You never know in life, I think that coaching Italy one day would be an extraordinary thing.
“In the meantime though I’ll try to win and do my best with Zenit.”
