Mane and Salah miss out in Dortmund friendly

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been ruled out of Liverpool’s International Champions Cup clash with Borussia Dortmund this evening.

The African duo only were given extended breaks following their World Cup exploits for Egypt and Senegal respectively.

Neither have picked up an injury, but they will not feature against Dortmund in Charlotte, while midfielder Marko Grujic will also sit out the game for the same reason.

With the Line-up announced, Serbian winger Lazar Markovic was a surprise inclusion in the starting XI.

Summer signing Fabinho plays the holding midfield role, and he will have Adam Lallana and teenager Curtis Jones operating ahead of him.

Moore expects more from Jurgen Klopp

The Liverpool CEO believes the German is a "world-class manager" and can deliver better results in the future.

Klopp will field a different team for the second half when the likes of Naby Keita, Daniel Sturridge, and James Milner will get a run-out.

Liverpool first half: Karius, Clyne, Van Dijk, Matip, Robertson, Fabinho, Lallana, Jones, Camacho, Origi, Markovic.

Subs: Milner, Keita, Gomez, Sturridge, Klavan, Moreno, Solanke, Phillips, Ojo, Woodburn, Kelleher, Grabara.

The Reds will name a 23-man matchday squad for the first of their three-game tour of the United States and will be joined by new signing Xherdan Shaqiri next week.
