Sadio Mane could return for Liverpool as the Reds travel to play against West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday

According to Jurgen Klopp, Senegal winger Sadio Mane may be fit enough to return to the bench after a month out, but Philippe Coutinho (adductor) will not make the game at London Stadium, GOAL reports.

The 25-year-old winger picked up a hamstring injury during the last international break. He was expected to stay on the sidelines till at leat the next national break, but Liverpool head coach Klopp might not have to wait until then.

According to the manager’s words on a press conference, the Senegal international looked good in Thursday’s training.
“Sadio trained yesterday for the first time with the team and looked really, really good. We will see what we do with that.”

Klopp said Mane might be ready to play at least 20 minutes against West Ham, but they don’t want to push the 25-year-old’s comeback too much.

“Yesterday it looked like he is ready for at least 20-25 minutes but we have to wait to see how his body reacts to the session because for him it was pretty intense; not because it was intense but because it was his first football session for a long time.”

“He did really well, he obviously didn’t miss his abilities or skills during the injury break, so that’s good,” the manager continued.

According to GOAL, Klopp also addressed other fitness issues at the club, including confirming Coutinho is out for this week, while Georginio Wijnaldum and Dejan Lovren’s statuses are up in the air.

The Red’s coach also gave updates on Adam Lallana, saying he will start next week and about Nathaniel Clyne, whose condition is not that good yet, but the player is on the right track to getting healthy again.
