Despite losing 2-1 at home on Sunday, Brighton midfielder Solly March says they were the better team in the second half as they took the game to Chelsea in search of a point.
Pedro and Eden Hazard gave Chelsea a comfortable first-half two-goal lead, and March pulled one back in the 66th minute, but couldn’t inspire Brighton to win a point.
“We had nothing to lose. We wanted to get at them and show them that we were better in the second half,” March told the club’s website.
“We did that after the break and we won the half. But at the end of the day it wasn’t good enough, so we’re a bit disappointed.
“I think we looked okay at times, but perhaps we tried forcing it too much with our final ball and when we got into the final third.
“We will work on that for the next game and hopefully we will improve.”
