Inter Milan director Guiseppe Marotta has confirmed that Arsenal transfer target Ivan Perisic has asked to leave the club.
The former Juventus transfer chief confirmed that Perisic had submitted the transfer request as Inter lost 1-0 to Torino in Serie A on Sunday.
In the summer of 2017, the 29-year-old was linked with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United former manager Jose Mourinho keen on his services.
Perisic was also an important figure as Croatia finished as runners up at the 2018 World Cup in Russia after their loss to France in the final.
The Croatian is regarded as one of the most dangerous wingers across the top five leagues in Europe on his day and is capable of delivering a cross or cutting inside to attack an opponent’s goal directly.
Prior to moving to the San Siro he played for Borussia Dortmund and VFL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
“Perisic has asked to leave,” Marotta said, according to football.London.
“But there is no offer for him.”
“We will see in the coming days. We will listen to the request of Perisic, he has put in a transfer request.”
“We must try to satisfy him but also respect the value of him.”
