Marseille making headway in transfer plans

Olympique de Marseille are set to finally receive some massive boost as the club looks set to seal a few important moves this week.

It appears that Marseille are now going to be very active in the transfer market. After struggling to raise funds and losing marquee players such as Lucas Ocampos, Les Phoceens are now going to hope for something better in the coming days.

Reportedly, Argentine striker, Dario Benedetto is set to sign for the club from Boca Juniors for a fee believed to be in the region of 16 million Euros. The final details are still being thrashed out but the striker is likely to be the club’s first signing.

Adil Rami’s future at Marseille is uncertain following his issue with Pamela Anderson. Luiz Gustavo has often been linked with a move away from Stade Velodrome.

However, Andoni Zibizarreta is also looking for a player who could strengthen the defensive frailties of the club. According to Marca, Alvaro Gonzalez is a player who could end up signing for Marseille.

Official: Mario Balotelli seals Serie A return with Brescia

Mario Balotelli's future is finally resolved after he signed "a multi-year contract" with hometown club Brescia in the Serie A.

Currently at Villarreal, the experienced defender is also keen on experiencing something new in his career. Having played for Espanyol as well, the defender could be a great option for Marseille who are in dire need of some leadership at the heart of defense.

With almost 230 La Liga matches under his belt and a lot of experience when it comes to playing in Europe, Gonzalez seems to be a great option.

With two years left on his contract, Turkish outfit, Basaksehir are also interested in signing the Spanish defender. However, it still remains to be seen if the player would be eager to play for either club given the fact that both have problems of their own.

Marseille don’t really have a lot of funds or competitive edge so the player might even decide to stay put.
