Emmanuel Adebayor is currently a free agent and has reportedly been offered to Marseille who are desperate to land a new striker this summer.

Adebayor could be the solution that Marseille are looking for. The Rhone giants are desperate to land a new attacker this summer following the departure of Mario Balotelli. Kostas Mitroglou has left for Galatasaray after his loan deal came to an end. Valere Germain is the only recognized out and out striker at the club and Andoni Zubizarreta is actively searching interesting profiles that are suitable to the club’s needs.

Sadly, the club’s ambitions have to be limited since they are very close to getting stamped on by UEFA Financial Fair Play.

The sporting director therefore, is looking for good bargain deals in the transfer market. Ones that do not put a lot of stress on the coffers. Tons of strikers have been quoted but it appears that the Marseille-based club might be in for a great option.

According to Foot Mercato, they have been offered the services of Emmanuel Adebayor.

The former Manchester City man is free from the contractual obligations he had at Istanbul Basaksehir and is now a free agent. The Turkish club changed managers this summer and Adebayor chose not to extend his deal with Istanbul looking to try things differently.

And the Togo international is a great option. He doesn’t come with a transfer fee and is far from done when it comes to playing at the top.

Moreover, Adebayor knows all about Andre Villas-Boas, having played under the Portuguese when the pair were at Tottenham in the 2012/13 Premier League campaign.

But it should also be noted that Adebyaor struggled for game time when AVB was at White Hart Lane. So it remains to be seen if the former Arsenal man would actually be willing to play for a man who didn’t believe in him.
