Manchester United sealed a comfortable victory against Burnley in their latest Premier League outing.
Manchester United looked to their second consecutive Premier League victory after 4-1 thrashing of Newcastle United.
Amid the tight fixture list, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made four changes to his previous lineup. Sean Dyche, similarly, made as many changes following his loss to Everton.
Manchester United started the match on the front foot. Fifteen minutes in, Nick Pope pushed out a curling free-kick shot from Marcus Rashford. The Red Devils made a few more attempts at scoring only to get disappointed each time.
Finally, just before half time, Man United found the back of the net through Anthony Martial. Andreas Perriera lashes on the Burnley defense that forces them to commit an error. The Brazilian then squared the ball to Martial, who smashed it home.
Man United doubled their lead just before the referee was about to blow the final whistle. Rashford, after getting on the end of Dan James’ cross, raced down the field and slipped the ball past the Burnely keeper.
Following the win, the Red Devils have climbed to fifth place in the league table and only a point short of a Champions League spot. Burnley, on the other hand, had to settle for 13th place.
