Roberto Martinez is backing his Belgian national sides midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne to be named PFA player of the year.
As far as Roberto Martinez is concerned there is no looking past Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne for the PFA player of the year award.
Martinez fully acknowledges that Liverpool has been the best team in the league. However, he also insists that De Bruyne who plays for the Belgian national team he manages has been the best player on the field of play.
Speaking to The Mirror he said:
“Obviously I watch all of Kevin’s games. The other day I was watching the Man City game against Liverpool and for me, it was very clear.”
“Liverpool has been the best team this season and the worthy winners and champions.”
“Then you could say easily Kevin has been the best player in the league.”
“The way he affects the game, the way he can become that player who executes the pass that no other can do.”
“A player that can play in different positions, that he can adjust to different needs and for me the best individual player in the league.”
De Bruyne is one of the favorites to leave City should their Champions League ban be upheld. Who would not want a player of his ability?
