Lautaro Martinez insists he is happy and staying at Inter Milan, transfer speculation is just proof he is doing a good job.

Lautaro Martinex has been linked with a move away from Inter Milan to Barcelona. That speculation has only intensified since Luis Suarez was ruled out for four months.

However, the player himself while flattered by the rumors insists he is happy at the San Siro.

In an interview with TyC Sports, the 22-year-old Argentine international believes if he is being targeted its just proof he is doing something right.

He said:

“I’m very happy here at Inter, people love me and I love them.”

“If you talk about me [as a transfer target] it is because I do my job well.”

“I must continue on this path.”

“I am very calm, I live day to day and I am happy and comfortable here.”

He endured a tough start to life at Inter, only managing nine goals in 35 games in his first season.

But he has flourished under new boss Antonio Conte and is grateful for the influence he has had on his game.

Martinez added:

“Many things have changed since he came in.”

“He has a special way of doing things and has taught us so much from his first day in charge.”

“He has convinced us to all give our best and the results are there for all to see.”

“Under Conte, I have grown a lot and I am enjoying how things are going.”

There are still over two weeks of the transfer window to go. Barcelona seems intent on testing Inter and Martinez resolve.
