Martinez thinks Hazard is at Neymar and Mbappe’s level

During an interview with Diario AS, manager Robert Martinez revealed that Eden Hazard is at Neymar and Kylian Mbappe’s level of performance.

The burning question that several people have asked after Eden Hazard got signed by Real Madrid is, where does he rank among the best?

There is a train of thought mostly led by Madridistas that dare to place him at the same level of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, this is simply not true.

While Eden Hazard certainly is in the Top 5 best players in the world right now, he is still quite far from the same level of performance that the two best players in football history have.

There is no catching up to Messi and CR7, they are completely out of the conversation because their careers have been too successful to compare to other players.

The names to which Eden Hazard can be compared are Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, who are slightly below the level of Messi and Ronaldo at the moment.

We can even say that the Brazilian player is a little further below them because of his recent unfortunate events, but Kylian Mbappe is just one step below those two.

It is next to the French youngster from PSG, that’s where Eden Hazard ranks and that’s exactly where his Belgium manager placed him this Monday.

“Eden Hazard’s great evolution has been personality-wise,” said Martinez on Diario AS.

“The great responsibility that Belgian football has given him is quite remarkable in order to understand one of this country’s best generations of players.”

“This squad became the Golden Generation after that third place in the 2018 World Cup. Eden is the player who had to lead by example, he is this team’s captain.”

“The way in which he has led his teammates is what helped this team gain more confidence when they needed it.”

“Hazard helped us be ourselves when we all wanted to win on the pitch. Eden has always remained emotionally consistent, this is what makes everybody understand that he is ready to lead any project.”

“The major reference to say he is on Neymar and Mbappe’s level came after what he did in the World Cup: there are many names and players who grow very popular after this competition.”

“However, we have to look into the essence of the footballer and the influence he has in the group. Hazard has remained consistent game by game.”

“The best example of this is the influence that Hazard had in Chelsea when they won the Europa League this season.”

“We can also talk about the role he had in the 2018 Russia World Cup. These types of players are very difficult to find because they need to be very talented all on their own.”

“But within the structure of any team, that type of talent will always give any team the initial advantage ahead of any other name that you can mention.”

Hazard could reach Messi and Ronaldo’s level.

We need to let everybody know that even though Eden Hazard still hasn’t reached Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s level, he can still do it.

The way in which the Belgian international can get to become one of the best players in history seems simple.

Eden Hazard came to Real Madrid as one of the best players in the world already, still below Messi or Ronaldo but already in the Top 5.

Coming to Real Madrid has proven that some of the good players can reach the very top while playing for Los Blancos. Eden Hazard only needs to lead the project.

Just like Martinez said, the Belgian only needs to be the best player of an already star-studded squad and make them win La Liga and the Champions League.

Hazard has what it takes to be that player, he only needed to play for a club with the prestige required to get to the top.

Chelsea wasn’t exactly the ideal destination where he could accomplish all his goals, but things will be very different for him from now on.

We truly could be about to witness an even better version of Eden Hazard, we believe he will take another step forward now that he plays for the most successful club in football history.
