Emiliano Martinez is eager to get more game-time at Arsenal and has hinted at an exit from the club if his needs are not met next season.
Martinez has come under the spotlight since Gunners’ first-choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno went out injured in June.
Martinez has been with the club for a decade now, but after finally getting the chance to shine in the first-team, he is no longer looking to settle for being second choice.
Bernd Leno is back from injury and it’s expected Mikel Arteta will deploy him back as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
In his 10-year-stay at Arsenal, Martinez has only made 15 Premier League appearances in total. His latest comments now indicate he could be forced to make an exit if lack of game-time remains an issue for him.
“I showed that I can play, I need to play more games next season,” he told Radio Continental.
“I want to establish myself at Arsenal and become first choice. If I don’t play, I’m going to move, I’m going to go where I play more.”
Martinez only has two years left on his remaining contract although the Gunners are trying to tie him down to a new deal.
