Mateo Kovacic has acknowledged that he is delighted at the prospect of lining up with N’Golo Kante in midfield for Chelsea FC this season.
Kovacic who signed a season-long loan deal with the Blues from Real Madrid after the west London side accepted to sell Thibaut Courtois to the Spanish club was showered with praises for his impressive performances for home side Croatia during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Kovacic said:
“It will be nice to play with him of course but there is a coach to pick the side and I need to give my best to prove myself.
“To talk about myself is difficult, I don’t like to talk about myself.”
Chelsea FC looks to be one of the major contenders for the Premier League title next season to try and lift the trophy in Maurizio Sarri’s first campaign in charge.
