Matthijs de Ligt has agreed personal terms with the Serie A champions with Mino Raiola stating that it is now up to Ajax to make a decision.
After a lot of pondering, it appears that Matthijs de Ligt has decided to continue his professional development in Italy with Juventus.
The highly sought after defender is the most talked name player this summer following some excellent displays for Ajax in the Netherlands and in the Champions League.
The likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United were also interested in the teenage defender who is more inclined towards moving to Turin.
And it appears that the player has chosen to reject interest from all three clubs in favour of a move to Juventus.
While speaking to De Telegraaf, the player’s agent said that his client has chosen to Juventus. However, the notorious agent also added that the decision rests on Ajax.
“De Ligt has agreed terms with Juventus and now it’s up to Ajax on how they deal with this situation,” Raiola told De Telegraaf.
And thought both Barcelona and PSG are looking to hijack the deal, Raiola maintains that Matthijs de Ligt is not going to go back on his word.
“That’s out of the question and so is arbitration, as it is not his style,” he added.
With an ageing backline boasting the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci, Maurizio Sarri is eager to add young blood. The former Napoli man is eager to bring Matthijs de Ligt who is definitely going to add pace and leadership to the backline.
Indeed, it is a mouth-watering prospect for the Italians who are really making all the right noises in the transfer market. Already, they have signed Adrien Rabiot while Paul Pogba could also be on the verge of making a return.
