Valencia has acquired the services of attacker Maxi Gomez, who is enjoying his first days at the club.
Uruguayan striker Maxi Gomez has been playing in the Spanish La Liga since 2017 with Celta.
But this summer, the attacker has moved to Valencia, where he’s excited to be playing in the UEFA Champions League.
“It’s a club that I always used to like, there was talk about other clubs, but I tried to leave this to my agent,” he told Marca.
“I was relaxed and when he told me about the possibility of going to Valencia, I said yes and I’m very happy.”
The Uruguayan explained: “It’s something unique to come to such a big club like Valencia and form part of this team and this family.”
“The days are going by and my teammates are making me feel really good, like one of them.”
“Let’s hope we can win lots of trophies, which would be incredible,” he said.
“Yes, it was a dream of mine since I was a kid watching the Champions League on TV, I played in the Champions League on the PlayStation.”
“And now playing in a competition like this is something unique that I’m going to remember for the rest of my life,” Maxi Gomez added.
“I’ve played football since I was four or five years old. I always played with older kids, they would kick the sh*t out of me but I’d just carry on.”
“And this makes you stronger and then the help of your family was definitely key for anyone,” he concluded.
