The Paris Saint-Germain star has advised Tanguy Ndombele to choose Tottenham instead of Manchester United this summer.
Tanguy Ndombele might not be a Lyon player in spite of what Jean-Micheal Aulas has to say. The France international’s commanding displays have caught the eye of some of the best in Europe.
Manchester United and Tottenham are keen on signing the young midfielder. Spurs have already made an approach for Ndombele and have been met with rejection. Only a substantial bid is going to make Lyon sell their prized asset.
According to Football Insider, Mbappe has suggested to Ndombele that he should seek a move to Mauricio Pochettino’s team. The PSG star says that at Tottenham he will be a key player and will progress a lot under the tutelage of the Argentine tactician.
However, it still remains to be seen if Lyon would agree to such a move. After already selling Ferland Mendy to Real Madrid, Les Gones are no more interested in letting their star players leave.
The likes of Memphis Depay and Moussa Dembele were also linked with moves away from the Rhone club. But Juninho, the club’s new technical director, vetoed both moves. And Aulas has also stated that the team is in no need to sell players to raise money.
Indeed, the Ligue 1 giants are keen to topple PSG next season and would need some of their best players stay this summer in order for that to happen. And Tanguy Ndombele is one of those players.
“The demands from Juninho and Sylvinho are very precise,” Aulas said at a press conference.
“We have done the essentials in terms of departures.
“We will need substantial proposals to make things with Tanguy Ndombele advance, who is a requestor (of a departure).
“He is being solicited by most of the great clubs.
“For the moment, nothing is done. But the door is maybe ajar.
“If he has to depart, we have made enquiries for a certain number of players. Thiago Mendes is one of them.”
