It’s time to talk about one of Portuguese football’s latest sensations, Joao ‘Hurricane’ Felix is the forward who has better stats than even Cristiano Ronaldo.

There are very few times in football when a massive young talent appears with such intensity, Joao ‘Hurricane’ Felix is a striker who has already surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo in a very important aspect of the game.

It happened this past Sunday when Feliz played the Lisbon Derby against Sporting from Portugal, the Benfica youngster surpassed his first 1.000 minutes in top tier football and reached a statistic that not even Ronaldo was able to achieve.

The 19-year old completed 1.058 minutes to be exact, he became the player who has scored the highest amount of goals and assists in Portuguese football history, even above the Juventus star.

Joao has already provided his teammates with 3 assists and he has already scored an impressive 8 goals.

When Cristiano Ronaldo was barely starting his career for Sporting near the same age, he completed his 1.000 minutes by only scoring 3 goals and providing just the 1 assists to one of his teammates at this point.

Felix came like a hurricane, hence the nickname the media has given him in recent months.

These recent performances may be the reason why Joao Felix gets a well-deserved call-up for Portugal when the upcoming international break sends all the top footballers to represent their national teams.

But Ronaldo isn’t the only world superstar that Joao Felix has surpassed, the youngster has also made better numbers than two of the biggest players in the world.

The first one is Brazilian Neymar, who reached his 1.000 minutes when he was still playing for Santos FC back in the 2008-2009 season and he was only able to score 4 goals and provide 4 assists to his teammates.

It took Neymar 26 matches to reach that number of minutes. The other big star that Joao Felix surpassed is none other than French youngster Kylian Mbappé, who after 33 matches played reached 1.000 minutes, scored 4 goals, and provided 6 assists to all his teammates when he was playing for AS Monaco.

These stats are the preview of what could become a very prolific career, several clubs are already asking Benfica about their youngest star and he may not last much longer at the club.

Mbappe sets new Ligue 1 record

Kylian Mbappe reached another individual milestone in his career as he became the youngest person to 50 Ligue 1 goals as Paris Saint-Germain beat Nimes 3-0...

But for Joao Felix, there was only one player whom he didn’t surpass with his impressive stats: that man is Lionel Messi.

The FC Barcelona star was precocious from the very beginning of his career, he made his professional debut during the 2004-2005 season with the Catalan club and he made the biggest impact that only young footballers like Diego Maradona, Ronaldo Nazario, or Pele have made.

On that season with the Spanish giants, Messi scored an incredible 29 goals between the first squad and the youth academy as he was moving back and forth between the two.

But after reaching his first 1.000 minutes with the first squad, Leo Messi scored an unheard of 13 goals and provided 8 assists to all his teammates.

Joao ‘Hurricane’ Felix may not be as impressive as Messi was, but he still has the world in awe with his goal-scoring capabilities and should have a very successful career if he remains disciplined throughout the whole road to the top.

Portugal may have found the ideal Cristiano Ronaldo replacement for the future because CR7 won’t last forever and the fans need a new idol to support.
