Lionel Messi and Barcelona are looking good on all fronts this season as they lead La Liga, while simultaneously winning their Champions League group.
However, Real Madrid are lurking just behind, tied on points with Messi’s Barcelona.
It looks like El Clasico next Wednesday – if it’s played as scheduled – could decide a lot.
Lionel Messi confessed that the opposition in La Liga is getting stronger by the year.
“Everything is becoming more and more even. They have been for several years and we notice that there is more equality.
“This makes everything more equal and more complicated,” he said, as quoted by Goal.
Messi talked about the upcoming clash with Real Madrid.
“I expect a very strong Real Madrid. They have shown it in the last matches, in La Liga and in the Champions League.
“Barca v Madrid and Madrid v Barca are always special matches.
“It doesn’t matter how the teams arrive, although it’s true that we both go into it at a good time.”
Blaugrana are the favorites in the matchup, but both teams have one more obstacle before El Clasico. Barca meet Real Sociedad, while Los Blancos travel to face Valencia.
