With another master class from Lionel Messi against Levante, FC Barcelona got easily past Levante in Copa del Rey. Dembele scored a brace.

In another display of beautiful football for FC Barcelona, Lionel Messi came to Camp Nou for a Deus Ex Machina moment after they Catalan club had lost the first Copa del Rey leg against Levante two weeks ago.

After losing 2-1 with a squad filled with substitutes in the city of Valencia, manager Ernesto Valverde realized that he would have to bring his biggest gun to the party and called up Lionel Messi for this match at Camp Nou.

Just hours before the match, it was unknown if the Argentine would start the match but the manager wanted to make his point from the very beginning and not leave anything to chance.

The only decision that the boss made was to leave Luis Suarez on the bench for the start of this match, he gave Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele a chance to play next to Messi from the start.

The Argentine would have a chance to keep delivering those great performances he has spoiled all his supporters with throughout this season, it doesn’t matter which competition he is playing or the rival, Messi always delivers.

The first half served for Barcelona to get a hold of the game from the very first minutes, it was quite evident that they wouldn’t let Levante have the ball for extended periods of time and they would go all in from the very beginning.

Lionel Messi was obviously right in the middle of all the football creation in midfield, he was the mastermind of yet another staggering collective performance from the Catalan club.

But Lionel did let the others play, specifically Coutinho and Dembele who needed a good performance in order to build more confidence.

The French winger was the most cheered player during the first half, he scored a brace within a couple of minutes after half an hour of the match passed at Camp Nou.

Both goals he scored received help from the defense, either a centre-back who deviated his shot or the goalkeeper who failed to block a relatively easy effort from the youngster were enough for Barcelona to turn the match result in their favor.

With that result already in their pocket, the match went to half time still with no goal from Messi but with his fingerprints all over the two goals that were already scored.

But the second half was reserved for yet another Messi brilliant moment, he combined with Semedo 9 minutes after the whistle in order to score the third goal for Barcelona and seal the next round ticket.

The Catalan club qualifies next to another seven squads in the competition. These clubs include Real Madrid, Real Betis, Girona, Sevilla FC, Espanyol, Valencia, and Getafe.

The draw for the quarterfinals will take place this Friday at 17:00 local time. FC Barcelona is well on their way to keep competing for all the trophies this season, they dream of winning the third treble in football history and prove that they are still one of the most dominant squads in the world of football today.

Lionel Messi will always remain at the center of it all, because the Catalan club has a bigger chance of winning all the trophies if Messi is at the top of his game.

So far, things appear to be going according to his plans and we expect him to remain at this high level of performance.
