Lionel Messi dominated Spanish football for more than a decade now, leading Barcelona to eight league titles in 11 years.
It’s such an impressive feat for Messi and Barca, considering their competition.
Blaugrana had to face Ronaldo-led Real Madrid for 9 years straight.
Those El Clasicos had a special spice to them, especially with Mourinho and Guardiola on the bench.
And now, Messi looks back to his Spanish rivalry with Ronaldo:
“It was a special duel and it will remain forever, because it lasted many years and it is not easy to maintain certain levels for a long time.
“The matches against Real always mean a lot, but when Cristiano was there they became much more special,” Messi said, quoting Daily Star.
Hopefully, we get to see these two square off for one last time in the Champions League.
