Lionel Messi has assured Neymar that he will be leaving Barcelona in a couple of years.
There is hardly any silverware that Lionel Messi has failed to set his hands on except, of course, the World Cup. Ever since his arrival, the Barcelona trophy cabinet had to be expanded on a regular basis. Even Messi’s personal record book is running out of pages to list out his individual honors.
Lionel Messi stepping out of the Camp Nou will arguably be one of the saddest days for the Barca fans. Unfortunately, the day is not very far away.
Recently, as reported by Forbes, the Barcelona record goalscorer insisted PSG forward Neymar to join the Blaugranas. Moreover, Messi insisted the Brazilian to take his place once he was headed ot of Camp Nou.
“Only together can we win the Champions League, I want you to come back. In two years I will leave and you will take over,” Messi said.
Journalist Miguel Rico also expressed his opinion on the reported conversation of Messi and Neymar.
“They speak of the future fluently, as they have always done,” he said
“But negotiating, what is said of sitting face to face to discuss the conditions [of a new deal], they are not. Nor do they know when they will sit down [to do it], as they are the only ones that mark the times [and meetings].”
