Argentina were comprehensively beaten by Colombia in their opening Copa America match and Lionel Messi has urged his teammates to respond.

While accepting that it will take some time to process the defeat, Messi stressed the importance of recovering quickly.
‘It will take us a while to accept and process the defeat,’ Messi said as reported by Daily Mail.
‘We have to look at the mistakes we made, and find the positives.
‘We have to recover quickly and there is still a chance to qualify.’
Lionel Scaloni and his charges were definitely up for a rude awakening against Colombia. However, things could change if they do well in the upcoming games against Paraguay and Qatar. Indeed, these are the two games that the Argentines need to win.
From an individualistic point of view, Copa America represents Messi his best chance to end his wait for a major honor at international level.
