Messi urges teammates to respond quickly

Argentina were comprehensively beaten by Colombia in their opening Copa America match and Lionel Messi has urged his teammates to respond.

The Copa America campaign has got off to a woeful start for Lionel Messi and co. the Argentines arrived in Brazil looking to finally end their long wait for some silverware. However, that craving has taken a beating already.

Albiceleste lost 2-0 to Colombia and the defeat has definitely hurt Messi and co.

Nonetheless, the Barcelona man says that it is time for his teammates to get on with the defeat and respond aptly. Argentina now have two games left to play in Group B. The remaining matches are against Paraguay and Qatar who settled for a 2-2 draw last night.

While accepting that it will take some time to process the defeat, Messi stressed the importance of recovering quickly.

‘It will take us a while to accept and process the defeat,’ Messi said as reported by Daily Mail.
