Mikel Arteta has been tipped to replace the current Arsenal coach Unai Emery
Arsenal is undergoing a rough patch of form. The Gunners are currently fifth in the Premier League table. Arsenal have won less than fifty percent of their league games. A lot of talk has been going on to replace the current manager Unai Emery. And former Chelsea striker Casarino has backed Mikel Arteta for the job.
Mikel Arteta was linked with Arsenal after Arsene Wenger’s departure from the club. But the former Arsenal captain accepted the role of assistant manager to Pep Guardiola in Manchester City. But recent reports have suggested that Arteta is once again on Arsenal’s wishlist to replace Unai Emery. Tony Casarino has also backed Arteta for the job saying he would unite the divided Arsenal dressing room.
“There are managers out there, but I said three years ago Mikel Arteta would have been the one [I picked],” said Cascarino.
“If you read about all the stuff about Arteta at Man City behind the scenes, I felt he would be a great fit for Arsenal and I think he would take it to a new direction.
“His English is far better than Emery’s and he would be a massive plus for Arsenal if they chose to make that decision.
“Arsenal have to be brought together. There are a very divided club from their fanbase.

“Their fanbase is totally divided; they were over Wenger, they are over Emery and they are over the players in their team. It’s where the club is.
“Some has got to convince Arsenal fans who are doubters that they’re on the right track.
“Unai Emery hasn’t done that. He hasn’t convinced arsenal fans who done believe he is the right man.”
