Stefano Pioli insists he does not see Zlatan Ibrahimovic as Milan’s savior but an addition to the team.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to play his first game for AC Milan after his return when they go up against Sampdoria tomorrow in the Serie A.

Milan have had a rough first half of the season as they struggle to climb to the top half of the league table. And many believe Ibrahimovic’s arrival could be the turning point in their season. But Stefano Pioli is not one of them.

The Milan boss praised Ibrahimovic for his qualities that he brings to the team but said that he alone could not improve their situation without the team’s help.

“Zlatan arrived in good shape and with the right attitude working with the team,” Pioli said as per Football Italia.

“He is very curious, concentrated, is getting to know everyone and settling in. It’ll take a little time, but right now we don’t have time to talk, we need action.

“I don’t think we’re treating Ibra like a savior who has come to rescue us, but he is an added value to the work we’ve been doing,” the Milan boss added.

“He is a champion, but won’t win games by himself and the whole team has to do much better.”
