AC Milan has confirmed that Leo Duarte has had an operation and will be out of action for 3 – 4 months.
AC Milan has released an official statement regarding the injury to defender Leo Duarte.
It is not good news for the Brazilian defender.
He has only recently established himself in the Stefano Pioli side. He has only made five appearances for the club since his arrival.
But after being dropped for the last game against Napoli, it was confirmed the payer was injured.
In a statement on the clubs official website, acmilan.com, the club has since confirmed the extent of the problem.
The statement read:
“AC Milan announces that Léo Duarte today underwent an operation at the Alfredson Tendon Clinic in Umeå, Sweden.”
“To treat a fracture to the calcaneus at the point where it meets the left achilles tendon.”
“The operation was performed by Prof. Håkan Alfredson with the Cub’s Team Doctor Stefano Mazzoni in attendance.”
“The operation went exactly according to plan.”
“Recovery time is estimated to be 3 – 4 months.”
