AC Milan continue to be busy in the winter transfer window with the loan signing of Simon Kjaer from Sevilla

AC Milan and Stefano Pioli have been busy this winter transfer window. Firstly Zlatan Ibrahimovic, then Asmir Begovic, now Simon Kjaer and there is talk of more.

Kjaer is a Danish international, was playing for Sevilla in La Liga. The 30-year-old defender has seen playing time hard to come by of late. He has made only five appearances so far this season.

Speaking to the club’s official website acmilan.com, he admits it is a dream come true to get such an opportunity.

He said:

“Playing for AC Milan is a dream for me.”

“I’ve always been inspired by Maldini, I dreamed of AC Milan for so many years and now I’m finally here.”

Kjaer has played in Serie A before, with Atalanta most recently at Roma before that. He does believe that the league has improved since he was last in Italy.

He added

“I’m coming back to a Serie A to find a lot of strong players.”

“The teams are doing better in Europe and they’re playing a faster and more modern style of football.”

The deal is a loan until the end of the season. But the Dane is intent on showing Pioli what he is capable of and making the move a permanent one.

He concluded:

“I’m on loan but I want to give my all and prove that I can stay here.”
