Henrikh Mkhitaryan has come to Roma to help the club not to have a holiday.
Mkhitaryan left Arsenal for Roma on a season-long loan this summer, in an attempt to revive his career.
The Armenian international moved to the Emirates Stadium as part of a straight swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move to Old Trafford.
Fast forward 18 months, and the move did not prove to be beneficial for any of the parties involved.
So much so both Arsenal and United loaned out their subsequent players.
Mkhitaryan move to Roma has not set the world alight though, and now there are questions being asked yet again of his credentials and commitment.
In an interview with FourFourTwo, he insists he is in Rome to contribute.
“I’m not here to be a tourist.”
“I’m here to help Roma achieve something.”
Adamant he is happy.
“It’s great [here].”
“The club and the city have so much history.”
“The weather is similar to Armenia’s, where we have 300 days of sun, and the Italian people are a bit similar to Armenians – funny, ironic, with a similar mentality.”
“So I’m feeling good.”
