Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric recently admitted on social media that the past week has been the toughest of his career.
The Spanish giants were humiliated thrice on their own patch in the space of eight days, which started with a 3-0 defeat at home to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey.
A 1-0 reverse followed suit in LaLiga Santander on Saturday, extending the gap between the two teams to 12 points before suffering a 4-1 defeat to Ajax in the Champions League.
According to Marca, Modric couldn’t hide his feelings as he uploaded a message on social media to pour out his heart.
“[This has been the] most difficult week of my career,” his post on Twitter began.”Success is not in never failing, but in rising every time you fall.”
A tough 2019 follows on from what had been a sensational 2018 for Modric in which he won the Ballon d’Or, The Best award, the Champions League and a silver medal at the World Cup with Croatia.
