Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was voted as the PFA Player of the Month award for December

The Egypt international scored six times for Liverpool on route to winning all seven of their Premier League games last month to take top spot from Manchester City.

Salah’s exploits this term have silenced doubters, who suggested he may have just been a “one-season wonder” after a stunning debut campaign at Liverpool, over his place among the world’s best players with the likes of Rafael Benitez leading his praises.

“Salah is showing everyone he is among the best,” said the Newcastle manager last month.

“He has the pace, the vision, the ability, he is clinical in front of goal.”

Now the PFA have confirmed on Twitter that Salah came out on top in a voting poll ahead of Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Ricardo Pereira, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.
