Barcelona’s problems continue to mount, as Jordi Alba suffered from relapse of a thigh injury.
Alba was substituted at half time in the Champions League game against Slavia Prague.
Barcelona have since confirmed that it was a recurrence of a previous injury.
The statement from the club’s official website, fcbarcelona.com confirmed that Alba is suffering from a relapse of injury on his left thigh.
The statement read:
“Jordi Alba has had a relapse of the injury in the femoral biceps of his left thigh.”
“He is out and his evaluation will determine his availability.”
So they brought on Nelson Semedo at right-back and moved Sergi Roberto over to cover up the spot left open by Alba.
This will be a big blow to Ernesto Valverde, Alba has played nine games so far this season, and even scored a goal.
