8. Jordan Pickford – €28.5m
High expectations have been placed on Pickford’s shoulders since emerging at Sunderland. It’s been a long road for him. After several loan spells, however, he proved his worth as a top goalkeeper in 2016/17.
Sunderland may have suffered relegation, but it didn’t stop Everton paying €28.50m for Pickford in 2017. He’s since made over 100 appearances for the Toffees.
The 26-year-old has even taken over the England #1 jersey.
7. Manuel Neuer – €30m
Perhaps the greatest goalkeeper of the last decade was Manuel Neuer.
The World Cup winner emerged at Schalke, impressing observers for his ability to ball with the ball. It’s a rare sight for keeper. He’s since delivered many impressive performances for Bayern Munich in the last nine years, helping them win 18 trophies.
The captain even finished third in the 2014 Ballon d’Or poll behind Lionel Messi and the winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
