Mason Mount is targeting more goals and trophies during his Chelsea career as he wishes to scale similar heights as Frank Lampard.
Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is one of the several players who have vastly benefited from Frank Lampard‘s policy to promote academy graduates.
Operating from the No. 10 role, Mount enjoyed a praiseworthy breakthrough season prior to the coronavirus coerced interruption, scoring six goals and registering five assists.
The 21-year old enjoys working under and learning from Lampard, who was himself one of the most formidable players in the world for the better part of his playing career.
The Blues boss is also no stranger to success, having guided his side to Champions League, Europa League, and multiple Premier League and FA Cup triumphs.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Mount reveals he wishes to follow in the footsteps of his manager with similar ambitions in mind.
He told: “I’d love to add more goals to my game like Frank did when he played for Chelsea. He was so dominant as a goalscoring midfielder. I’d also like to be successful like him in terms of trophies won.
“As young players coming through, you dream of lifting silverware and that’s no different to this team.
“We want to win trophies and having seen the Chelsea team when Lampard was playing, that’s something we can aspire to.”
