Jose Mourinho has hit back at claims from Danny Rose saying he was told he wasn’t going to play under Mourinho’s management.
Danny Rose joined Newcastle on loan last month but made a bold claim saying he did so because he was told he wasn’t going to play, as per BBC via Daily Mail.
Jose Mourinho is never one to hide his thoughts on issues and has come out in defence of himself.
The Portuguese says he gave Rose chance after chance to prove himself but the 29-year-old failed to take advantage.
“It was a great opportunity to play three very important matches.”
“He played against Liverpool, he played against Olympiacos, probably the two more important matches we had to play, and against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
“So even for him, it was a great opportunity to play three matches and show me what he’s capable to do.”
Rose will spend the rest of the season on loan at Newcastle while his future at Spurs remain in doubt amidst interest from PSG.
