Manchester United can look back at their own good form as well as the lady luck should they secure top-four finish, suggests Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United moved level on points with fourth-placed Leicester City following their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in Premier League matchday 36.

Both Man United and Leicester City are looking to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Their fate will most probably not be settled until the very last stage of the 2019/20 Premier League season, with the two sides set to clash on the final matchday.

Not many expected Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team to be competing in the top-four battle in the earlier parts of the season. But United have been transformed after the arrival of a certain Bruno Fernandes and looked a completely different team ever since.

Jose Mourinho, however, believes the Red Devils have been at times fortunate during their 19-match unbeaten run.

“If Manchester United does it [secure Champions League qualification], they will do it by playing very well in the second part of the season. And when you play well, you deserve,” said the Tottenham boss, as per ESPN.

“On top of that, everyone knows that they were a bit lucky, more than one time, luck that others didn’t have. We didn’t have it, for example, that luck.”
