Jose Mourinho couldn’t help but take another swipe at his former employer’s Manchester United and their new superstar Bruno Fernandes.
Bruno Fernandes has been a revelation since his arrival in January from Sporting Lisbon at Manchester United.
Upon his arrival, he was installed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the team’s official penalty taker. United had been highly embarrassed in the past when Pogba and Rashford made a mess of spot-kick duties and cost their side valuable points in the process.
All in all, Fernandes has taken six and scored six from 12 yards out in all competitions.
Former United manager Mourinho has taken swipes at Fernandes before, insisting he would not have signed him. Even though it is clear to see the midfielder is world-class and obviously been the difference in United’s upturn in form.
Now the Portuguese is back at it, picking at his compatriot yet again.
Speaking to Record, he said:
“Bruno came in, was fit, played very well, improved the United team, and also proved to be a great penalty taker, one of the best in the world because he had about 20 to score.”
How does Fernandes rank amongst the best penalty takers in the game?
