Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur are beaten by a dominant Bayern Munich

The last time the two sides met Spurs got hammered at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium,

Bayern Munich placed a nail in the coffin of Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs career, as they ran out 2-7 winners.

The scoreline was not as definitive as the previous encounter, but the statistics certainly were.

From possesion , to shots, to cross, to tackles, the Germans more than double Spurs’ efforts in every area.

Luckily for Mourinho and company the game was a mere formality. Bayern already Group B winners, and the Lillywhtes guaranteed runners up.

The Bavarian giants took an early lead through Kingsley Coman.

Spurs hit back quickly though with an equalizer six minutes later.

Ryan Sessegnon scored on his first senior start since his summer arrival.

Thomas Muller was introduced in the 27th minute. Goalscorer Coman suffered what looked like a nasty knee injury.

Muller made the most of his opportunity.

The German international followed up on an effort from Davies that hit the post.

All that was left for Muller to do was poke the ball home.

2-1 Bayern Munchi lead at the interval.

Bayern’s third and final goal came from former Liverpool man Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho hit the crossbar earlier in the game.

This time he made no mistake, with a curling shot from the edge of the area.

Final score: Bayern Munich 3 – 1 Tottenham Hotspur.
