David Moyes is unable to confirm whether or not there is a deal being done to bring Gedson Fernandes to West Ham United.
Gedson Fernandes has been linked with several top clubs across Europe.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with moves for the 21-year-old Benfica midfielder.
However, most recently it has been suggested that West Ham United has stolen the march on the Elite. Moyes and the Hammers are apparently the closest to agreeing on a deal.
The player has a 100 million-plus Euro buy out clause.
But it is thought that Benfica is willing to either drop that significantly or let the player go out on loan with an option to buy.
In his weekly press conference, the former Everton and Manchester United boss was asked about Fernandes’ arrival.
According to Goal, he was unable to confirming anything.
“I couldn’t tell you since I have come straight from training to the press conference.”
It is worth mentioning there was no denial of any deal or bid.
He did admit he is an admirer of the young Portuguese international.
“More importantly, he’s a young player for the future and he has a good pedigree.”
