Thomas Muller is falling out of favor with Kovac as the manager of Bayern. Kovac already declared that him and Coutinho cannot be played at the same time.
Thomas Muller started only three Bundesliga matches this season.
With making four substitute appearances this is a big fall for the former regular started at Bayern.
Even through adversity, Muller was able to collect four assists to his name. Phillipe Coutinho looks like a big competition early on.
The Brazilian showed flashes of brilliance, especially against Tottenham in a big 7-2 win in the Champions League.
Muller is hurt by the lack of playing time, and the 30-year-old is contemplating leaving Munich.
When asked about the recent statement where Kovac marked him as a substitute, Muller told Kicker:
“When I heard about that statement of course I was surprised. But I’m not sensitive with such things. I already had a chat with the manager and for me everything’s okay now.
“Of course the new signings toughened the competition in my best position but that’s not the problem. That’s not what it’s all about.
“A manager has to make difficult decisions ahead of every game. But in the recent five games there has been a trend that doesn’t make me happy.
“If the coaching staff see me as a sub in the future, I will have to think about my situation. I’m too ambitious to not do that.”
Muller is also outcasted from the German national team. The attacking midfielder fell out of favor with Low after some poor performances in the World Cup in Russia.
